Together, We Grow – Pyrotec’s mission – percolates through all operational areas of our business, and our watchwords – quality, operational efficiency, innovation and communication – resonate with our staff.
We are a responsible corporate citizen and our policy for social responsibility focuses on previously disadvantaged communities, particularly in the surrounding areas in which we operate. We also believe that education is vital for placing Africa on a path of sustainable growth and development.
We have been instrumental in maintaining and sustaining the Garden Village Primary School. This small school has been the beneficiary of our ongoing support that includes a library and books, teacher salaries, computers and staff time.
We also provide employment opportunities for people from communities in Mitchell’s Plain, Lavender Hill, Garden Village Vrygrond and other Cape Flats suburbs. In fact, many of our staff are from these areas.
Pyrotec’s Skills Development Fund sponsors some 200 individuals (apprentices, interns and students studying degrees and diplomas) to continue their education and skills development. While most are not employed at Pyrotec, our reward is seeing so many young people, connected to Pyrotec in different ways, growing their knowledge and experience and moving up the business ladder.
As a Level 3 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment company, Pyrotec’s business ethos is steeped inequality. It is for this reason that the 160+ strong team is as culturally diverse as it is skilled. The ever-growing team is headed up by an executive management team that excels in myriad arenas and whose passion for the business is manifested in a highly-satisfied customer base and motivated team with a low staff turnover.
We value above-board business dealings, innovative production focus, and constantly questioning the status quo by pushing the boundaries.
